Yukong is a 4-star character from Honkai: Star Rail and is the first 4-star Imaginary character in the game. Additionally, Yukong is a strong buffer, with the capability to buff her allies’ ATK, Crit Rate, and Crit DMG all at the same time. This makes her an extremely strong buffer, but her kit has some conditions that you’ll need to learn to best take advantage of her strengths. Yukong gains “Roaring Bowstring” stacks after using her Skill. Anytime a Roaring Bowstring stack is active, Yukong will buff her allies’ ATK, and her Crit Rate + Crit DMG when she uses her Ultimate. Fortunately, this means her buffs are not linked to any stats, meaning her Relic build is a little more forgiving. Here’s our guide for the best Yukong build in Honkai: Star Rail.
Yukong’s best build in Honkai: Star Rail
Light Cones
- But the Battle Isn’t Over is by far one of the best Light Cones to equip on Yukong. Having her Ultimate up is important to activate her Crit Rate & Crit DMG buffs. Additionally, the Skill Point refund is extremely useful in helping Yukong keep her Roaring Bowstring stacks up. You can obtain this weapon for free after earning 600 Undying Starlights, which you can earn by pulling on various banners in the game.
- Past and Future synergizes with Yukong’s kit, providing additional attack buffs to the ally acting next. Due to how Yukong’s team comps work, your DPS should often go after Yukong, making this a good option for her.
- Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds is the Harmony battle pass weapon. This can provide some useful buffs for your team, such as an additional ATK buff, a Crit DMG buff, or an Energy Regeneration Rate buff.
Relics & Eidolons
None of Yukong’s buffs scale off of any of her stats. This means you can build Yukong as an additional damage dealer to increase her Ultimate damage or build her for survivability if you find it difficult to keep her alive in tougher content. It’s worth noting that if you have Eidolon 4, she will deal 30% more DMG to enemies when her “Roaring Bowstring” is active, which may incentivize you to lean towards a more offensive build.
- If you want to build Yukong for damage, then you can opt to run a 4-piece Musketeer of Wild Wheat set. This will increase her ATK by 12% and her SPD and Basic ATK DMG as well. Note, the SPD buff can ruin your team’s rotations. If this is the case, then swap out the 4-piece Musketeer of Wild Wheat set and add a 2-piece Wastelander of Banditry Desert set for an additional Imaginary DMG buff.
- For a defensive Yukong, you can still use the Musketeer of Wild Wheat set for a more Hybrid build, still adding offensive stats to your Yukong. Otherwise, a full defensive Yukong will best use the Guard of Wuthering Snow set, which reduces the DMG she takes by 8%, and will also heal her and provide some Energy when her HP is below 50%.
- For her 2-piece set, use the Space Sealing Station set if you are using an offensive Yukong or the Belobog’s Fortress of Preservation if you are using a defensive Yukong.
Here are some of Yukong’s most useful Eidolons to hit:
- Yukong can provide a useful 10% SPD buff for allies at the start of the battle for 2 turns at Eidolon 1.
- At Eidolon 2, Yukong regenerates her own energy by 5 whenever an ally has their Ultimate available, which can help with her buff uptime.
- Eidolon 4 provides a 30% DMG buff when her buffs are active, which can help with her personal damage if you are building an offensive Yukong.
- Eidolon 6 is Yukong’s best Eidolon, as it helps her buff uptime.
