Hogwarts Legacy guide – How to unlock Transformation and find the Underground Harbor
The Transformation spell in Hogwarts Legacy will likely be the last regular spell you obtain in the game (not counting Dark Arts/Unforgivable Curses, of course). Basically, you’ll need to complete the Charles Rookwood’s Trial quest. That’s followed by Fire and Vice, where you help Poppy retrieve a dragon egg. Only then will the assignment from Professor Weasley appear in your log. She’s got a couple of tasks for you:
- Find the Field Guide Page in the Underground Harbor.
- Find the Field Guide Page in the Library.
Now, the tricky part here is the Underground Harbor in Hogwarts Legacy. There are two ways to get there, but the waypoint on the minimap tends to make you go all over the place. These are your options:
- Boathouse fast travel point – Immediately turn right and check the waterfall. You’ll see a narrow opening that leads to a cave. Dismount and swim to reach the Underground Harbor.
- Viaduct Courtyard fast travel point – Walk forward and you should see a well-hidden elevator door to your right.
Next up, you’ll need to find the Field Guide Pages for the Hogwarts Legacy Transformation spell:
- Underground Harbor – At the edge of the pier. Do note that this area has an Eye Chest (you can pop stealth to open it to receive 500 gold).
- Library – Follow the waypoint and climb the spiral staircase. You’ll meet Sophronia of Ravenclaw, and she’s going to ask a few questions. If you don’t see her in this spot, then you might need to complete the Hall of Herodiana puzzle.
- For Sophronia’s Q&A portion, pick the following answers: The Golden Snidget -> The Deathly Hallows -> The Quaffle -> False.
In any case, you should have both Field Guide Pages now. Return to Professor Weasley and she’ll teach you the pattern. This will unlock the Hogwarts Legacy Transformation spell. As mentioned, it will turn one target into an inanimate object, like a barrel or block. However, damaging them will end the effect. The spell also has a fairly long cooldown, so it’s primarily for single-target control.
Hogwarts Legacy is available via Steam.
