Hogwarts Legacy Moonstones guide – Where to find Moonstones for the Room of Requirement

Hogwarts Legacy Moonstones are a special currency or resource used to place or affix decorations and furniture in the Room of Requirement. Although these objects are unlocked through various means (i.e., Collections, Challenges, or as loot), the mere act of plopping them down in your hub requires different amounts of Moonstones. As such, you might want to find more of them if you truly want to fill your personal space with a lot of decorations. In any case, we’ll discuss the methods to find more Hogwarts Legacy Moonstones for the Room of Requirement.

Evanesco

This is pretty much a given since you’ve used it a few times while doing the unlock quest. Evanesco removes obstacles and furniture, refunding their Moonstone cost. So, if you feel like something is cluttering up the space, you might as well remove it to regain the spent material.

Moonstone Ore Nodes

Moonstone Ores can be found in outdoor areas, namely rocky crags, ruins, and caverns. Although they can sometimes blend in due to the grey color and rough texture, you might still see a light blue glow emanating from them to make them more visible. You can break these nodes by using your Basic Cast. Keep an eye out for them while exploring so you can amass enough of the material.

Vendor Wares

It’s also possible to acquire Hogwarts Legacy Moonstones by purchasing them from wandering merchants. Once you have a flying broom and are free to explore most of the game world, take note of coin icons in various areas. These merchant NPCs may sometimes sell Moonstones at small quantities.

Material Refiner

If you want to get Moonstone passively in Hogwarts Legacy, there’s the Material Refiner. The blueprint can be purchased from the Tomes and Scrolls shop in Hogsmeade for 2,000 gold. If you need the cash, you can check out some tips from our moneymaking guide.

Placing the Material Refiner in the Room of Requirement costs 15x Moonstone, and you can have a maximum of three. These fixtures might provide decent return-on-investment eventually since each device generates 10 Moonstones every 10 minutes. Make sure you return to pick up your resources so you always have a lot on hand.
