Hogwarts Legacy: Hall of Herodiana Puzzle Guide

There are many secrets and puzzles in Hogwarts Legacy. One of these takes place in the Hall of Herodiana, a secret area in the castle that’s accessible only if you start a sidequest. Here’s our Hogwarts Legacy guide to help you solve the Hall of Herodiana puzzle and sidequest.

Hogwarts Legacy Hall of Herodiana puzzle guide – How to get all chests in the secret area

To start solving the Hogwarts Legacy Hall of Herodiana puzzle, you’ll want to progress further in the campaign until you have two important spells: Accio and Depulso. That’s because you’ll be pushing and pulling a lot of blocks in the secret area.

Anyway, the first step is grabbing the quest itself. Fast travel to Astronomy Wing: Charms Classroom and look for a Ravenclaw student in the lounge. The student, Sophronia Franklin, says that she wants to solve a mystery, so just agree to help her. Next, make sure you’re tracking the sidequest and fast travel to Astronomy Wing: Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower. Follow the trail and you’ll see a wall with a block. Cast Depulso on it, causing a door to be revealed.

Puzzle #1

As noted above, the Hogwarts Legacy Hall of Herodiana puzzle is all about moving blocks to the correct positions. While there’s only one path that leads to the exit, you’ll need to do additional actions if you want to open the optional chests:

• Push the duo-block to the left wall.
• Push it to the entrance. Climb up to open the chest.
• Finally, push the object to the opposite end so you can exit this part.
• The small chest here has a cosmetic piece for the Herodiana’s Set. Actually, all three sections reward you with these cosmetics for transmogrification.

Puzzle #2

• There’s a solo-block and a duo-block. The moment they’re bunched up together, they’ll be stuck for good. As such, we want to reposition them correctly in order to get the chest.
• Initially, you’ll want to face the blocks from the opposite side (first image). Next, push the solo-block to the entrance wall.
• Pull the duo-block to where the solo-block was. Pull it again until it’s at the back-left area.
• Pull the solo-block to the left. You should have something like what’s seen in the second image below.
• You can now combine the two by pulling the solo-block to the duo-block.
• Pull the combi-block to the indentation (third image).
• Then, pull it to the entrance. It should hit the ledge where the chest is (fourth image).
• After opening the chest, push the combi-block all the way to the exit.

Puzzle #3

This is the third and final Hogwarts Legacy Hall of Herodiana puzzle section, and it introduces a new mechanic: the reset switch. Basically, it resets the position of the movable block irrespective of your current location. We’ll handle that later. For now, let’s focus on the optional chest:

• Push the block to the far end, and push it again so it’s at the right-hand wall (first image).
• Next, pull it a few times to the left and toward you. You’ll then be able to climb up and get the chest (second image).

Now, we’re going to have to do a reset. Hit the switch with your basic attack and do the following:

• Pull the block so that it’s at the right-hand wall, then push it toward the switch.
• Move to the left side of the room, then pull the block toward you. You should be able to cross it to one of the permanent ledges (first image).
• While standing on the far ledge, hit the switch to reset the block’s position.
• Use Accio to pull it toward the exit. Then, pull it to the left. This lets you cross the gap (second image).

And that’s it, you’ve solve the Hogwarts Legacy Hall of Herodiana puzzle. Your rewards include three cosmetic pieces (the Herodiana’s Set), as well as random stuff from the optional chests. You can see pieces of the cosmetic set used for transmog in the image below.

Anyway, go back to the lounge outside the Charms Classroom and talk to Sophronia once more. This will conclude the sidequest.
