Hogwarts Legacy: How to unlock Glacius

Glacius is a spell in Hogwarts Legacy. Also known as freezing magic, it stops enemies in their tracks, turning them to blocks of ice and making it easier for you to wail away on them. Here’s our Hogwarts Legacy guide to help you unlock the Glacius spell.

Hogwarts Legacy guide – How to unlock Glacius

The Glacius spell in Hogwarts Legacy is available a few hours into the campaign. Basically, you’ll need to progress the main story further to get the following:

• Flying Class quest – As the name implies, this quest gives you your first taste of flying on a broom.
• Flight Test quest – This becomes available after you get Confringo and unlock the Room of Requirement.
• Map Chamber quest – After that, you’ll talk to Professor Fig and the two of you will visit the Map Chamber.

Only after completing the above will you receive the Hogwarts Legacy Glacius assignment from Madam Kogawa. The assignment entails the following tasks:

• Pop five balloons in Hogsmeade Station.
• Pop five balloons around the Quidditch Pitch.

Head over to those locations and mount up on your broom. You should see these large balloons floating in the air. All you need to do is bump into them with your character. Your speed doesn’t matter: you could fly normally or use your burst and it would be fine since there’s no time limit.

Once you’re finished with those, return to Madam Kogawa. She’ll teach you the pattern for the Hogwarts Legacy Glacius spell, which looks like a mountain range. That’s just in keeping with the theme, eh? Trace the pattern successfully and the spell is yours. Use it to freeze and immobilize enemies, following up with a fire attack to shatter and melt your foe. You may also use it to put out flames.

Moreover, assuming you’ve completed Professor Garlick’s assignment for the Flipendo spell, Madam Kogawa will contact you again. This time, you’ll undertake some tasks for the Arresto Momentum ability.
