Early leaks hinted that a new Hitman title was indeed on the verge of being announced. IO Interactive had since parted ways with longtime publisher Square Enix, further complicating the situation. We are thrilled to partner with IO Interactive on HITMAN 2 and bring the latest game in this iconic franchise to the passionate HITMAN fanbase and new players,” said David Haddad, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “IO Interactive has done a fantastic job with the Hitman franchise, and this new game will provide a distinct gameplay experience for players to be creative in larger sandbox locations.

There are currently six different locations identified for Hitman 2. Miami and other “international” locations are up for grabs. The return of Elusive Targets is also a promise.

A new mode, Sniper Assassin, allows for the first co-op experience in the Hitman franchise. This mode is available to play now in early access for those who pre-order Hitman 2. There will be four editions of the game available: Standard, Silver, Gold, and Collector’s Edition. Those who pre-order the Gold or Collector’s Edition will be granted access to the game four days prior to everyone else.

Hitman 2 is slated for release on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. What do you think of the newest Hitman title? Do you think WB Games will do a good job taking over the franchise from IO Interactive? Let us know in the comments below.
