Did you know that Dead Island developer Techland is working on a first-person hack-and-slasher called Hellraid? Well, now you do, and you can experience it for yourself by playing Edyn’s Escape – an interactive trailer which you’ll find below.

As with all good Choose Your Own Adventure/interactive movies, pretty much every option is capable of murdering you without warning. Also like all good Choose Your Own Adventure/interactive movies, you can pretend you didn’t mean to pick that as you totally hadn’t taken your finger off the previous page by pressing Back every time the ceiling unceremoniously collapses on you. So yeah, it’s pretty much like revisiting my childhood.

Hellraid is apparently due out later this year, and will offer both a story-led single-player campaign and a “competitive cooperation multiplayer” that pits four players against the armies of hell, while competing against each other for points and rewards.

Tim has been playing PC games for longer than he's willing to admit. He's written for a number of publications, but has been with PC Invasion - in all its various incarnations - for over a decade. When not writing about games, Tim can occasionally be found speedrunning terrible ones, making people angry in Dota 2, or playing something obscure and random. He's also weirdly proud of his status as (probably) the Isle of Man's only professional games journalist.
