Plantronics and sound firm Dolby have told IncGamers a new headphone set they launching is ideal for Call of Duty fans as it will ‘increase the reaction time of the player’ due to a ‘best in class audio experience’.
The PC GameCom777 headset with 7.1 Dolby ProLogic IIx technology, which will also launch for consoles in 2011, claims to offer immersive surround sound. According to Plantronics, the headset will provide an ‘unmatched sound and voice experience for PC gamers’.
Speaking to IncGamers, Stuart Bradshaw, Plantronics Consumer Marketing Manager, said: “The GameCom777 headsets you to hear your enemy before you see them. Ideal for games such as COD:MW2”
Dolby Marketing Manager Dominic Preston told IncGamers: “Dolby Headphone provides a means of virtualising surround sound to create an immersive and cinematic audio experience which enhances the entertainment experience on your headphones.
“The Game 777 headset, with the inclusion of Dolby Headphone, will increase the reaction time of the player, provide a deep and immersive experience. Plantronics are launching their new GameCom777 headset with 7.1 Dolby Headphone surround sound technology at Gamerbase, Trocadero, London from 1pm today, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 tournaments with team Dignitas, headset prizes and 50% off the Dolby Axon voice client giveaways for all those who attend.
The Plantronics GameCom 777 Gaming Headset will be available from the end of August at selected electrical retailers, priced at £79.99.
