Alawar Entertainment has at last confirmed the intellectual credentials of PC gaming by announcing the release of Hamlet.
Cheekily subtitled “the last game without MMORPG features, shaders and product placement,” the game promises to “reconstruct the Bard’s drama by dropping an explorer from the future onto the scene of Prince Hamlet’s bloody revenge.”
From the looks of it, Hamlet offers stylistic adventure gaming and puzzles along the lines of the terrific Machinarium. Pop over to Alawar’s site for a downloadable demo and trailer.
The full version of Hamlet can be unlocked via the demo for just $9.95 USD, which is certainly cheaper than a theatre ticket in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
We tried to contact William Shakespeare for further comment, but unfortunately he’s still dead.
