PC gamers love the Half Life series because both games were outstanding when they were released. That’s why we’re all keen for Valve to pull their finger out and get Half Life 3 made. Sadly we know that’s not happening any time soon but Half Life 2: Update is worth your time for numerous reasons.

Apart from the fact that Half Life 2 has now been given a huge amount of visual improvements, it’s the most stable version of the game according to Filip Victor, the community member that’s developed this new improved version.

There is one feature in particular that’s really going to appeal to fans of the Half Life series and that’s the optional commentary that’s been added by members of the community. Think of this  as director’s commentary that you can access while playing that’s full of facts about the game’s development and the area you are currently playing in. For this feature alone the game is worth another playthrough.

Half Life 2: Update is completely free on Steam right now, and if you’re still not convinced, give the trailer a watch because it will probably make you fire it back up.
