Guild Wars 2 End Of Dragons Shing Jea Island

Take a tour of Shing Jea Island from Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons

The island won't be so tranquil once the Commander arrives.

Guild Wars 2 fans are eagerly awaiting the launch of the next expansion for the MMORPG. It will take players to the beloved Canthan region, which was introduced to the franchise in Guild Wars: Factions. The first stop for Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons players on their journey into Cantha will be Shing Jea Island. But you don’t need to wait until the expansion releases in February 2022 to check out the island. ArenaNet has released a new video giving you a look at the lush landscape and towns.

Shing Jea Island is situated just off the southwest coast of mainland Cantha. From the new video showcasing the island, it looks like it will be the gateway to Cantha for End of Dragons players. The port of entry, if you will. The main town showcased in the trailer is a tranquil harbor with plenty of waterways and has the classic Asian styling that Cantha is known for.

Take a cruise

You can see two new features from End of Dragons on display around Shing Jea Island — the skiffs and fishing. Skiffs will be a personal vehicle that you can use to traverse waterways. You will be able to bring up to four friends along on your pleasure barges. As for fishing, it’s a classic MMORPG pastime, and a new way to gather a new resource (fish) in Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons. You will even be able to fish off your skiff. There are also plenty of Tengu strolling around in the video. Will they finally become a playable race in-game?

You can see the Shing Jea Dragon Boat Skiff Skin on many of the skiffs in the trailer. You can get this, along with the Canthan Raptor Skin (also shown in the trailer), if you pre-order the Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons Collection Deluxe or the Collection Ultimate. They will cost you $74.99 USD and $99.99 USD respectively. Other pre-order bonuses include a cape, weapon chest, and title.

If you’re an MMORPG fan and need something to fill your time while you wait to land at Shing Jea Island in Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons, you should check out our ongoing New World review and see if that island takes your fancy.
