Gray Zone Warfare First Recon guide: Where to find a gas station, convenience store, and demolished building

A recon trip.

Time to get to know the city and its non-friendly inhabitants. Here is where to find a gas station, convenience store, and demolished building for the First Recon task in Gray Zone Warfare.

First Recon task locations in Gray Zone Warfare

First Recon is the first task you get from Handshake, one of Gray Zone’s vendors. He will ask you to do some recon work and find three key locations: a gas station, a convenience store, and a demolished building. Contrary to other tasks, you only need to head to and be in the vicinity of these locations for each of the objectives to be completed.

Before you go exploring the whole map, Handshake will give you the coordinates for all of these locations which you can check out during the briefing and afterward under the Tasks tab in your Main Menu. Since the locations will vary depending on which Faction you chose at the start of the game. Thankfully, we have them all laid out for you in the chart below.

LocationLamang Recovery InitiativeMithras Security SystemsCrimson Shield International
Gas Station200, 160170, 121144, 161
Convenience Store201, 163171, 118141, 162
Demolished Building203, 163170, 116141, 165

Once you accept the task, I strongly suggest finding the location of your choosing on the map and creating a custom marker on the map by right-clicking on it. That way, you will be able to find your desired location on the compass located at the middle top of the screen. Moreover, be sure to pack a good amount of gear, meds, and weapons since you will need them to fight enemy soldiers.

Gas Station

The gas station is a really obvious location out in the open. In my case and for all Mithras members, the Gas Station is up north from the city where it was located and just to the side of the road. You can spot it by its characteristic design, but beware, I found various soldiers guarding the area, so you will have to shoot your way into the Gas Station.

Convenience Store

The Convenience Store is similar to the Gas Station in the sense that you will find enemy soldiers guarding it. However, due to it being located in the center of the city, you will probably have to search a bit to find it if you are among other buildings that may look alike. As said above, use a custom map marker and you will save some precious time.

Demolished Building

Finally, the Demolished Building is characterized by having those blue tarps surrounding it. Head toward them and you will complete the objective. Thankfully, I didn’t find as much resistance as the other two locations, so maybe it’s a good starting point for your journey.

Head back to your Main Base by using the helicopter fast travel at either one of the Landing Zones and once again talk to Handshake. He will then award you with the following items and the First Recon task will be concluded:

  • MOC II vest.
  • TC-2000 headgear.
  • 3,400 USD.
  • +400 Experience.
  • +100 Handshake Reputation.
