Back in April the BBC revealed they were working on a new drama called Game Changer which follows the story of Grand Theft Auto and Rockstar’s battle with attorney Jack Thompson who campaigned hard against the game in the courts.
Followjng the drama’s announcement, Take-Two issued a lawsuit against the BBC stating:
“Take-Two Interactive has filed suit against the BBC for trademark infringement based on their movie currently titled ‘Game Changer’ as it relates to Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto video game series.”
We can only assume that any grievances Take-Two had with the drama have now been resolved and filming went ahead as planned. With GTA being the biggest entertainment franchise ever, the drama will likely prove very popular with gamers and anyone interested to find out what all the fuss was about.
The first trailer for the new drama, which stars Daniel Radcliffe as Rockstar co-founder Sam Houser and Bill Paxton as Jack Thompson, has been released today.
