Granblue Fantasy Versus Soriz Leaping Tiger Charging Dragon

Granblue Fantasy Versus reveals Soriz and his moves in new trailer

The man is clearly a fan of his body.

Publisher Cygames and developer Arc System Works have announced the next DLC character, Soriz, will join the roster of Granblue Fantasy Versus fighters on April 7. The announcement was accompanied by a launch trailer that shows off a little more of the expert martial artist than many people would like to see.

However, the trailer also contains some bare-knuckle brawling gameplay, which is most welcome. It gives players a good look at Soriz’s moves, too. That includes his potent Skybound Art punch: Leaping Tiger, Charging Dragon (the epic punch with the fiery orange tiger and blue dragon).

Soriz used to run a weapon shop but came to believe that the only weapon one can truly trust is the body. This led the elder fighter to train his body, often by smashing rocks, to be the ultimate weapon. His character description says he is disciplined and determined, but he can tend to be a dirty old man. You do get that feeling from the opening shot of his trailer.

The ultimate weapon

As Soriz powers up, he strips down – almost all the way down. You can see him posing and fighting in nothing but a thong (more correctly, a fundoshi) in the Granblue Fantasy Versus trailer. Soriz sheds his clothing when he uses his Super Skybound Art, Macho Ultimatum.

Despite the loss of clothing, this Art actually increases his defense based on the amount of damage he took during Muzzled Fury. Macho Ultimatum also buffs and grants special follow-ups to his other abilities.

Soriz’s Super Skybound Art, Macho Ultimatum, elevates him to greater heights. And to lesser clothing.

You can purchase Soriz individually in Granblue Fantasy Versus starting on April 7. Alternatively, you can get him via the Character Pass 1 through Steam, along with Beelzebub, Narmaya, Djeeta, and Zooey when they each launch. Check back on March 31 when the trailer revealing the next DLC character, Djeeta, comes out.
