Good Old Games Adds Police Quest & Zork Collections

This article is over 13 years old and may contain outdated information

There’s some retro-adventuring to be done over at Good Old Games, who have added the entire Police Quest series and complete Zork Anthology to their catalogue.
All of the Police Quests were co-designed by actual real cops (the first three by Jim Walls, the final one by Daryl Gates of the LAPD,) which means you generally have to follow proper procedures or risk shame-facedly handing in your badge. In style, the games are like other late-80s/early-90s Sierra adventure titles (like Kings Quest.) The set of four costs $10.00 USD.
The Zork titles, meanwhile, are all text adventures. Which means you have to use reading and the incredible power of your imagination to play them properly. All six of ’em for $6.00 USD seems like a pretty good deal if you miss the days of typing in GO NORTH, HIT TROLL.
Try not to be eaten by a Grue – I’ve heard that’s the second most common form of death for text adventurers. Yes, that is the only thing I know about Zork. Sorry.
As usual with GoG, the titles should all work with modern machines (ie; they’re probably bundled with emulation software like DOSBox) and are guarenteed DRM-free.
