According to a report on Heise.de, in response to the German school shooting last week Mechtchild Ross–Luttman, Minister for Social Affairs in Lower Saxony, is proposing an age restriction on the sale of ‘violent’ video games such as WoW and first person shooter, Counter Strike. If the plans go ahead, anyone found to be selling games that fall into this category to minors could be fined up to €50,000 EUR.

A recent study by the criminal research institute of Lower Saxony apparently revealed that over 80% of the 45,000 students who were questioned are either addicted to computer games or in serious danger of becoming so.
