Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions will be getting a massive patch, adding content and revising what’s there, and turning it into Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved.
The patch – due 31 March – updates and revises the retro shooter. 40 new levels will be added to Arcade mode, offering new bosses, grid shapes, and gameplay types. The level gating system will be revised, making it easier for players to progress and unlock their favourite modes. A Sweeper drone and Detonator super ability will be added.
There will also be a number of improvements for long-standing fans, like Hardcore Mode, letting the truly great tackle 20 dedicated levels without drones or supers. And, yes, there’ll be individual leaderboards for purists who don’t use drones and supers.
The patch is due to hit for free on 31 March, at which point Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions will change its name to Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved. Those who haven’t bought it yet will be able to do so for the same price, so don’t worry if you’re thinking of picking it up in the future.
