Genshin Impact: Yanfei character summary

Recommended Videos

We’ve discussed Yanfei’s weapons, artifacts, and talents in-depth already, but is she actually viable in your Genshin Impact comps?

After a bit of experimentation and setups, I found that Yanfei is quite decent. She’s very easy to use and is quite beginner-friendly. Basically, you’ll use her normal attacks or elemental skill to generate those Scarlet Seals. Then, pop your elemental burst to gain the Brilliance buff. With some beefed up stats, you’ll use your charged attacks, consuming the existing Scarlet Seals and dealing tremendous damage. As of now, I’ve only tested Yanfei with the four-piece Crimson Witch of Flames set, but that’s because my Wanderer’s Troupe set has terrible rolls.

Still, there are a few caveats. Since Yanfei’s fairly new, I’ve yet to get her to level 80+. Her DPS throughput and survivability might pale in comparison to other Pyro main DPS characters like Diluc or Klee. Another key factor is that I haven’t had a lot of success when using her in a supporting or sub-DPS role. If you’re going for elemental reactions, then you’ll want peeps like Ganyu, Xinqiu, Chongyun, Mona, and the like to pop their abilities first. Then, bring Yanfei out and have her “seal the deal.”
