Genshin Impact Tighnari guide – Best talents and constellations
We’re going to discuss the talents that you should prioritize for Tighnari in Genshin Impact, and whether or not you should acquire his constellations. But, before that, let’s check his ascension materials.
Ascension materials
Character leveling:
- Fungal Spores/Crystalline Cyst Dust/Luminescent Pollen – Dropped by fungi/mushroom mobs.
- Nilotpala Lotus – Found in rivers and ponds in Sumeru. You can take a look at our Nilotpala Lotus farming locations guide if you need help acquiring them.
- Nagadus Emerald – Dropped by the Jadeplume Terrorshroom and Dendro Hypostasis.
- Majestic Hooked Beak – Dropped by the Jadeplume Terrorshroom.
Talent leveling:
- Fungal Spores/Crystalline Cyst Dust/Luminescent Pollen – Dropped by fungi/mushroom mobs.
- Admonition booklets – Obtained from the Steeple of Ignorance domain every Monday, Thursday, and Sunday.
- The Meaning of Aeons (high-level) – Dropped by the Raiden Shogun/Guardian of Eternity weekly boss.
Active talents
- Normal Attack: Khanda Barrier-Buster – This buffs Tighnari’s normal, charged, and plunging attacks.
- Wreath Arrow – Tighnari’s charged attack has two levels. When fully-charged, he’ll fire four clustered arrows that track and hit the target.
- Elemental Skill: Vijnana-Phala Mine – Deals AoE Dendro damage in a field that also taunts nearby enemies. After casting, Tighnari will be able to fire up to three Wreath Arrow clusters within a split second (i.e., no need to fully charge the shot).
- Elemental Burst: Fashioner’s Tanglevine Shaft – Fires six projectiles that track opponents and deal Dendro damage; unleashes a secondary wave of projectiles upon hitting the initial target.
Passive talents
- Encyclopedic Knowledge – Displays icons of Sumeru resources on your minimap.
- Keen Sight – +50 elemental mastery (EM) for four seconds after firing a Wreath Arrow.
- Scholarly Blade – Increases the damage of the charged attack/Wreath Arrow and elemental burst by 0.06% for every point of EM; capped at 60% bonus damage.
Constellations
- C1: Beginnings Determined at the Roots – +15% crit rate for charged attacks.
- C2: Origins Known From the Stem – +20% damage bonus if there are enemies within the AoE field created by the elemental skill.
- C3: Fortunes Read Among the Branches – +3 elemental burst level; max upgrade level of 15.
- C4: Withering Glimpsed in the Leaves – +60 EM for all party members for eight seconds after casting your elemental burst. Burning, Bloom, Quicken, and Spread reactions add +60 EM and refresh the buff.
- C5: Comprehension Amidst the Flowers – +3 elemental skill level; max upgrade level of 15.
- C6: Karma Adjudged from the Leaven Fruit – Reduces the Wreath Arrow’s charging time to 0.9 seconds; creates one extra Clusterbloom Arrow that deals 150% of Tighnari’s ATK as damage.
Talent/constellation priorities and summary
Given that Tighnari was the first 5-star Dendro character introduced in Genshin Impact, he tends to have a very straightforward kit:
- Talent priority: Normal Attack > Elemental Burst > Elemental Skill (ignore).
- His normal attack talent is what modifies his Wreath Arrow/cluster damage, whereas his burst is a nuke.
- His skill, meanwhile, almost removes the waiting time for a fully-charged shot, and it will taunt enemies regardless of the level. That’s why you won’t need to bother with it.
- Tighnari’s basic rotation simply requires you to pop his skill, followed by three charged shots (with the cooldown significantly reduced). Use his burst, too, when it’s off-cooldown.
- We don’t recommend grabbing all his constellations. Still, C1 tends to be viable (you’ll probably just need 50-60% base crit rate if need be), while C2 offers good damage bonus.
All right, that does it for this particular section. Next up in our Genshin Impact Tighnari guide series, we’ll talk about the best weapons, best artifacts, and best team comps for him.
