Genshin Impact: The best weapon for Thoma – Staff of Homa versus Black Tassel and other options
Let’s discuss the best weapons in Genshin Impact for Thoma.
Staff of Homa (crit damage) – Well, there’s a reason why you can’t spell “Thoma” without “Homa.” We might as well call the Staff of Homa the best weapon for this guy in Genshin Impact. There are two reasons for this:
- +20% HP boost – This is automatically active for the wearer. Given that Thoma’s Blazing Barrier and Fiery Collapse rely on Thoma’s max HP, then we can easily say that the stat boost is ideal.
- ATK bonus – The wielder also gains an ATK bonus based on a small percentage of their max HP, further reinforcing how the stat is a given.
There are, however, two downsides here. First, the Staff of Homa is a 5-star weapon from wishes, and it’s definitely costlier than other options. Second, this is also considered the best weapon for Zhongli and Hu Tao. If you have these characters and only one weapon, then Thoma will likely be the last in line to use this.
The Catch (energy recharge) – The Catch is a viable 4-star alternative. It’s a free-to-play option, too, since you just need to do a lot of fishing. It increases elemental burst damage and elemental burst crit rate.
Wavebreaker’s Fin (ATK%) – Wavebreaker’s Fin is a new weapon in Genshin Impact, obtainable as part of the Epitome Invocation banner running concurrently with Hu Tao’s/Thoma’s. Each point of the entire party’s maximum energy capacity is tallied. In turn, the elemental burst damage of its wearer is increased by 0.12%. A maximum bonus of 40% elemental burst damage can be gained.
Dragon’s Bane (elemental mastery) – Dragon’s Bane increases the damage dealt against enemies affected by Hydro or Pyro. Given that Thoma’s own abilities deal Pyro damage, then you can gain a boost from this.
Black Tassel (HP%) – Believe it or not, Black Tassel is just a 3-star weapon in Genshin Impact, but it could be good for Thoma. The reason for this isn’t because of the additional effect (i.e., bonus damage versus slimes). Rather, it’s the HP% sub-stat. At level 90, it gives Thoma an additional 46.9% HP, which is perfect for shield scaling.
Anyway, let’s go to the next part of our Genshin Impact Thoma guide to talk about the best artifacts that we can use.
