Genshin Impact: Theater Mechanicus Stage of Brilliance guide

The two (dozen) towers!

Genshin Impact Theater Mechanicus Stage of Brilliance – What’s new in this version of the event

Recommended Videos

Let’s discuss the basics when it comes to the Theater Mechanicus Stage of Brilliance minigame in Genshin Impact.

Simple and streamlined

Veteran players will remember the first version of this minigame from February 2021. That was subsequently replaced by the Stage of Wonders variant in August 2021. Nowadays, though, you’ll notice that things are a lot simpler and more streamlined. Here’s the gist:

  • Some towers are already pre-built, though you can still dismantle and construct new ones.
  • Challenges only let you build specific kinds of towers, each with a particular limit.
  • Specific actions or types of kills might reward you with more Veneficus Points (i.e., tower build points).
  • There’s no need to select Fortune/Mystic Sticks (i.e., buffs) at the end of each wave. Instead, these are chosen from a limited pool prior to starting a run.
  • The aforementioned selection pool also has a maximum number of points that you can spend.

Note: As usual, characters won’t be able to directly deal damage to foes. Instead, you’ll mostly use elemental skills to cause reactions (either in conjunction with other characters or tower effects).

Tower options

The core concepts are still retained in the Theater Mechanicus Stage of Brilliance minigame in Genshin Impact. If you check the Armory page, you’ll see the towers that can be built. Here they are:

  • Rippling Reflections – AoE Hydro damage.
  • Inferno – Long-range Pyro projectile.
  • Furious Discharge – Short-range Electro zap.
  • Dust Devil – Anemo projectiles that knock back enemies; can be rotated.
  • Glacial Bloom – Shoots Cryo bullets in a straight line.
  • Crack Shot – Shoots Physical damage arrows in a straight line.
  • Tandem Mine – Causes a massive Pyro explosion when enemies step on it; destroys the device.
  • Binding – Traps an enemy that passes through it for three seconds; destroys the device.
  • Banishment – Does an AoE knockback when an opponent gets too close; will go on a five-second cooldown once the effect is triggered; can be rotated.

Fortune Sticks

The Fortune Sticks in the Theater Mechanicus Stage of Brilliance minigame in Genshin Impact provide buffs to different kinds of towers. Again, only a few of these will be available as part of a challenge’s selection pool:

    • Dispersion – Lowers ATK to increase AoE.
    • Honed Flow – Increases elemental mastery and ATK speed.
    • Swell – Unleashes Torrent Rings every eight seconds.
    • Rapids – Greatly increases ATK.
    • Surging Fury – Increases ATK and ATK speed.
  • Pyro tower
    • Pyro Orb – Replaces regular projectile with high-damage Flares.

    • Torch – Increases elemental mastery.

  • Cryo tower

    • Stoic Thunder – Increases ATK and ATK speed.

    • Bullseye – A slightly weaker and cheaper version of Rolling Thunder as it only increases damage per stack.
    • Arbalest – Increases detection range.
    • Siege – Towers that trigger Superconduct decrease a target’s physical resistance for 12 seconds.
    • Fusillade – Increases ATK and ATK speed.
    • Long Arm – Increases ATK speed and detection range.
  • Tandem Mine
    • Continuous Carnage – The explosion will not destroy the mine; instead causes a self-repair state that takes seven seconds to complete.
    • Faint Thunder – Refunds 20 points whenever a mine is destroyed.
    • Culling – Deals bonus damage to foes that are above 50% HP.
  • Binding
    • Chains – Improves the effect, allowing the device to imprison multiple foes in an AoE.
    • Constancy – The binding effect will not destroy the device; instead causes a self-repair state that takes seven seconds to complete.
    • Shackles – Increases the imprisonment time to two seconds.
    • Brambles – Imprisoned opponents take more damage.
    • Hidden Sting – A weaker and cheaper version of Brambles.
  • Banishment
    • Sustenance – Allows the tower effect to get triggered four more times before entering a cooldown state.
    • Daze – Decreases the movement speed of enemies that get pushed back by four seconds.

All right, let’s go to the next part of our guide series to talk about the first challenge called Whither the Wind Wends.
