Genshin Impact: Rosaria summary
We’ve discussed Rosaria’s weapons, artifacts, and talents in-depth already, but is she actually viable in your Genshin Impact comps?
Well, it’s too early to tell. I’ve done some experimentation and setups, and here are some findings:
- She’s definitely a lot easier to control compared to Hu Tao (who has to dash back and forth to apply her blossom effect). Likewise, her elemental skill has only one charge, but it hits twice (the forward dash followed by the frontal cone swipe), dealing Cryo damage on both occasions.
- Her elemental skill lets you dash behind smaller or medium-sized opponents, but you can’t instantly teleport behind larger ones like Ruin Guards or shielded Mitachurls. If you do find yourself behind your foe, you’ll usually follow that up with regular melee attacks (Physical damage).
- The initial swipe from her burst/ult can hit enemies if they’re clustered together, and the same goes for the dropping lance and eventual pulses. However, the AoE’s radius is still relatively small.
There are, however, a number of problems. Firstly, she doesn’t fit in any role in any of my team compositions. I have no reason to use her as a Cryo main DPS because I already have Ganyu. If I give her a supporting role via her burst, it’s not as stellar as it may seem. Most of the time, you’re contending with RNG for decent artifact rolls anyway, so the crit rates of characters will probably be in or around 50%. If Rosaria’s crit rate is around this mark, the bonus the rest of your party gains once she swaps out will only be 7.5%. There’s also another issue since, at this point in time in Genshin Impact, you could have characters like Chongyun, Qiqi, and Diona (all three are great in support/setup roles that involve Cryo peeps).
At the very least, you can have Rosaria help with a perma-freeze setup with her burst, or she can debuff the Physical resistance of enemies (but only once she’s reached C6). Alternatively, she can be someone who’ll open up with her Cryo skill/burst followed by a Pyro character for Melt reactions.
Where she’s fairly decent, however, is as a Physical DPS character. Give her Crescent Pike, the Bloodstained and Gladiator’s combo, and wail away on enemies until they start kneeling and confessing their sins, sister. Just remember that all these options exist, but they can lead to disappointments. Assuming you have characters that fulfill these roles already, then Rosaria’s could be sidelined indefinitely.
