Genshin Impact guide: The Rite of Descension main quest in Liyue

II. An Impromptu Change of Plan and Wangshu

After your exploits in Liyue Harbor, go to the location in Jueyun Karst that’s marked on your map. This will be the next part of Genshin Impact‘s Rite of Descension main quest.

Moon Carver

This location is actually very close to the Statue of the Seven in Jueyun Karst that’s part of the Qingyun Peaks puzzle. In fact, it’s actually just below the statue itself.

Anyway, go near the shrine to meet an animal spirit or adepti known as Moon Carver.

Before you can finish the conversation, the guards from Liyue Harbor arrive. Take out all 20 of them.

Speak with Moon Carver who’ll tell you to go to Wangshu Inn.

Wangshu Inn

After arriving, make your way to the balcony to meet another one of Genshin Impact‘s unique characters, Xiao.

You’re told to speak with the innkeeper and then with the cook. Head back inside Wangshu Inn’s kitchen to spot a ghost.

The Ghost and the Witness Sigil

If you speak with the cook and the innkeeper once more, you’re told to check out the Witness Sigil via the decoration inside Wangshu Inn. The goal is to find the perfect spot somewhere in the area, one that lets you view the entirety of the Witness Sigil.

If you look outside to the east, you’ll see some curious-looking symbols on the rocks. This is the Witness Sigil.

Step on the marker on the ground and try to align the camera. You should see the Witness Sigil light up and pulse if you do this part correctly.

The ghost will then appear and run off. Follow her until you reach the grasslands.

She’ll reanimate a Ruin Guard that you need to destroy.

When you’re done, return to Wangshu Inn to speak with Xiao, the cook, and the innkeeper.

Your next goal is to head to Mt. Hulao to meet the Mountain Shaper.
