Genshin Impact Version 2.1 is releasing on September 1. Along with a lot of new content, players will be able to acquire three new characters to add to their rosters. One of those playable characters is Raiden Shogun, and based on the newly released Genshin Impact teaser, it looks like she’s haunted by her past.
Raiden Shogun will be a five-star Electro Polearm user in Genshin Impact. She will deal massive damage, while also providing her team with plenty of buffs to empower them.
The other two playable characters arriving with Version 2.1 are resistance leader and Hydro wielder, Sangonomiya Kokomi, and Electro bow wielder, Kukou Sara. Don’t forget, Horizon Zero Dawn’s Aloy is also coming to Genshin Impact soon. PlayStation players will get access to her on September 1, when Version 2.1 releases. Everyone else will need to wait until Version 2.2.
Raiden Shogun abilities
Raiden Shogun’s player card describes her as a support character who enhances her team’s Elemental Burst damage. She can also restore Elemental Energy to all party members while wielding her tachi.
Her first Talent is called Baleful Omen. Using it causes Raiden Shogun to unveil a shard of her Euthymia. You may recognize that from the title of Version 2.0 – The Immovable God and Eternal Euthymia. It deals Electro damage and grants nearby team members Eye of Stormy Judgement. The Eye will attack alongside characters who possess the buff.
Chakra Desiderata is Raiden Shogun’s next ability. It causes her to build up Resolve when her party members use their Elemental Bursts. The maximum number of Resolve stacks she can attain is 60, and they will be cleared 300 seconds after she leaves the field.
The Resolve stacks determine how much damage Raiden Shogun does with her Secret Art, Musou Shinsetsu. She first deals Electro damage in an area with Musou no Hitotachi, and then wields Musou Isshin in combat for a certain amount of time thereafter. Musou Isshin attacks restore energy to party members, and while in this state, her attacks are considered Elemental Bursts. Her Resolve stacks are consumed when she uses her Secret Art.
The Phantom Flow event is still running in Genshin Impact until August 30. If you need help with the Shoden and Okuden challenges, check out our event guide.
