Phaethons’ Syrtos is one of the world quests in Genshin Impact‘s Enkanomiya region. It requires you to unlock a chamber protected by a barrier. Eventually, you’ll have to look for the Royal Tombs. Here’s our Genshin Impact Phaethons’ Syrtos guide to help you unlock the world quest in Evernight Temple and find the seven Royal Tombs.

Genshin Impact Phaethons’ Syrtos and Royal Tombs guide
As you can see from the featured image, the spirit NPC that gives you the Phaethons’ Syrtos quest in Genshin Impact is behind an Evernight barrier. Unfortunately, we can’t just switch to Whitenight because that will make the shade disappear, too.
Instead, we need to look for the two Seelie. Look across the gap and you should see them. If you use the nearby fast travel point, you can jump down. Glide and follow both of them until they both reach their pedestals.
The barrier will dissipate and, if it’s Evernight, the shade will remain visible. Talk to the spirit, who calls herself Clymene. She will ask you to place a single Sango Pearl in each of the seven Royal Tomb. As long as you’re tracking the quest, the markers should appear on your map.
Note: If you’re fairly new to the game, you can check out our Sango Pearl farming locations guide.
The seven Royal Tombs in Genshin Impact are found in open areas, so you shouldn’t have problems spotting them. However, a select few might be guarded by mobs (i.e., Electro Abyss Lectors).
When you’re done, return to the original spot where you met Clymene. A road made of stardust will appear behind you, allowing you to cross the gap.
You can talk to Clymene on the magical platform that just spawned. She asks you to find the Divine Bridle. To be clear, though, it’s the final reward of an entirely different quest called Hyperion’s Dirge.
Once you pick that up, speak to Clymene again and place the Divine Bridle in the center of the platform. This will complete the Phaethons’ Syrtos quest in Genshin Impact.
Note: The little orbs that flew away are the spirits of trapped children. We’ve got a Childrens’ Shades/Afterimages guide to help you find their locations in the area.
