Genshin Impact Nahida guide – Ideal talents and constellations
Let’s discuss the talents that you should prioritize for Nahida in Genshin Impact, and whether or not you’ll want to acquire her constellations. But, before that, let’s check her ascension materials.
Ascension materials
Character leveling:
- Fungal Spores – Dropped by fungi/mushroom mobs.
- Kalpalata Lotus – Found on the cliffsides of Sumeru. You can take a look at our Kalpalata Lotus farming locations guide if you need help acquiring them.
- Nagadus Emerald – Dropped by the Jadeplume Terrorshroom and Dendro Hypostasis.
- Quelled Creeper – Dropped by the Dendro Hypostasis.
Talent leveling:
- Luminescent Pollen – Dropped by fungi/mushroom mobs.
- Ingenuity booklets – Obtained from the Steeple of Ignorance domain every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday.
- Puppet Strings (high-level) – Dropped by the Shouki no Kami/Balladeer/Scaramouche weekly boss.
Active talents
- Normal Attack: Akara – This increases Nahida’s normal, charged, and plunging attack damage. It’s not something you should focus on.
- Elemental Skill: All Schemes to Know – Deals AoE Dendro damage and marks up to eight enemies that it hits. When held down, you’ll enter “aiming mode” (with a targetting reticle) that lets you pan the camera around to mark up to eight targets around you.
- Tri-Karma Purification – When triggering Dendro elemental reactions, Nahida will also deal Dendro damage based on her ATK and elemental mastery stat.
- Elemental Burst: Illusory Heart – Creates a Shrine of Maya aura with a wide AoE. This will provide the following buffs depending on the elements of other characters in your party:
- Pyro – Increases the damage of Tri-Karma Purification (i.e., the extra Dendro damage that procs whenever an elemental reaction is triggered).
- Electro – Decreases the interval between each Tri-Karma Purification proc.
- Hydro – Increases the duration of the Shrine of Maya aura.
- The effects will be increased further if two characters of the same element are present in your party. Likewise, the buffs will remain as long as any active character is within the AoE field.
Passives
- On All Things Meditated – The elemental skill’s aimed mode allows you to collect plants from further away as long as you target the nodes (seen in the image below). You’ll no longer need to worry about climbing or swimming just to get Philanemo Mushrooms, Violetgrass, or Kalapalata Lotus.
- Compassion Illuminated – When standing within the aura, the EM of the active character will be increased by 25% of the EM of the party member with the highest value; capped at 250 bonus EM.
- Awakening Elucidated – Past 200 EM, each point grants 0.1% bonus damage and 0.03% crit rate to Tri-Karma Purification; capped at 80% bonus damage and 24% crit rate.
Constellations
- C1: The Seed of Stored Knowledge – When calculating the buffs for the burst based on the elemental types of party members, you’ll gain a +1 bonus. For instance, if you only have one Pyro character with you, then it’s as though you have two.
- C2: The Root of All Fullness – Burning, Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon damage can crit against marked targets (fixed at 20% crit rate and 100% crit damage); their DEF is decreased by 30%.
- C3: The Shoot of Consious Attainment – +3 elemental skill level; max upgrade level of 15.
- C4: The Stem of Manifest Inference – When enemies are marked (i.e., one to four or more enemies), Nahida’s EM is increased by 100/120/140/160.
- C5: The Leaves of Enlightening Speech – +3 elemental burst level; max upgrade level of 15.
- C6: The Fruit of Reason’s Culmination – After unleashing her burst, Nahida’s normal and charged attacks will deal Karmic Oblivion. It scales based on 200% of Nahida’s ATK and 400% of her elemental mastery. This state can last up to 10 seconds or upon doing six procs.
Talent/constellation priorities and summary
Nahida is an absolutely stellar character in Genshin Impact. While you won’t see one-hit nukes akin to Mona or Hu Tao, she more than makes up for it due to consistent proc damage and EM boosts. Here are additional details:
- Talents: Elemental skill > Elemental burst > Normal attack.
- Nahida’s elemental skill is where all the damage comes from, and the marked state of enemies lasts a long while, too (i.e., 25 seconds). Likewise, if you’ve got high elemental mastery, the scaling is phenomenal.
- Nahida’s elemental burst is unique in that it doesn’t deal damage (it’s purely a buff). Moreover, leveling it up will further increase the effects of those buffs:
- Proc damage increase if there’s a Pyro character.
- Proc internal cooldown (ICD) decrease if there’s an Electro character.
- Burst duration increase if there’s a Hydro character.
- C2 is a goal that you can attempt (only if you want to spend more). Critical damage from reactions, as well as the damage reduction, will shred your foes.
- Finally, don’t forget Nahida’s Compassion Illuminated Talent. Assuming you built Nahida to have a ton of EM (the highest in your active team), then any active character within her burst’s AoE will receive 25% of her EM as well.
All right, that does it for this particular section. Next up in our Genshin Impact Nahida guide series, we’ll talk about the best weapons, best artifacts, and best team comps for her.
