Genshin Impact: Kaboomball Kombat event and rewards guide

Tennish him! Squash-tality!

The basics of this activity

Recommended Videos

Genshin Impact‘s Kaboomball Kombat event involves destroying the Dodofortress (which fires off several balls). To do this, you’ll need to press left-click once these projectiles are fairly close to your character. The objects will bounce back and hit the Dodofortress, whittling down its health.

Kaboomballs and Shazam Fruits

There are various kinds of projectiles spouted by the Dodofortress. For the Incoming Kaboomballs stage, you’ll encounter the following:

  • Super-Simple Ball – Just the basic type.
  • Breezy-Burny Ball – A golden orb that deals extra damage when it hits the Dodofortress.
  • Natter-Chatter Ball – A purple orb that will make the Dodofortress fire three additional balls in quick succession.
  • Foggy-Groggy Ball – This is a brown orb that’ll obstruct your vision if it hits your character. You can still smack it back towards the Dodofortress.

As for Shazamfruits, these are small objects that can spawn on the field:

  • Zoom-Fwoom – A light blue power-up that increases your movement speed.
  • Fury Fruit – A red-orange power-up that extends the duration of the Dodofortress’ Fury Faze.

Destroying the Dodofortress, the Fury Faze, co-op mode, and the scoring system

The Dodofortress has a lot of health. As mentioned earlier, Kaboomballs whittle down its HP bar. However, if you perform a perfect hit (i.e., timing your left-click correctly just as the ball hits your character), this type of shot will deal more damage. You’ll notice stars and flashes on your character if a perfect hit is done.

It’s also imperative that you land perfect hits whenever the Dodofortress gets shielded, as this will help you break its immunity. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait for time to elapse before the shield dissipates. Likewise, take a look at the circular icon above the Dodofortress. This indicates the Fury build-up. Once it’s maxed out, the Dodofortress will temporarily churn out more Kaboomballs for you to whack.

Note: Destroying a Dodofortress will make another one spawn. You can try to eliminate as many as possible within the given time limit for each run.

As for the scoring system, every hit you deal will add to your total points for the run. As usual, it’s better to obtain a higher score and more perfect hits since you might complete certain challenges.

Also, don’t forget that you can do Genshin Impact‘s Kaboomball Kombat event with another player via co-op matchmaking. This has some benefits, such as a player helping you smack around those projectiles with ease. However, there are also certain downsides, such as players who often get whomped by projectiles (instead of hitting them back), or those who can’t reliably do perfect shots.

In any case, let’s take a look at the challenge tasks, rewards, and event shop for the Kaboomball Kombat event in the next part of our guide.
