Ganyu’s best artifacts: Blizzard Strayer vs. charged shot or ATK-boosting sets
Blizzard Strayer from the Peak of Vindagnyr tends to be the most obvious choice here.
The 2-piece set bonus from Blizzard Strayer adds +15% Cryo damage. Meanwhile, its 4-piece set bonus increases a character’s crit rate by 20% if they attack a target affected by Cryo. If the target is frozen, an extra 20% crit rate is also added. That whopping 40% crit rate is no joke especially if you’re often freezing your enemies.
If you want, though, you can test other alternatives:
Artifact Set | Source | 2-Piece Set Bonus | 4-Piece Set Bonus |
Resolution of Sojourner | Midsummer Courtyard | +18% ATK | +30% charged attack crit rate |
Martial Artist | Hidden Palace of Zhou | +15% normal and charged attack damage | +25% normal and charged attack damage for 8 seconds after using an elemental skill |
Wanderer’s Troupe | Dropped by elites and weekly bosses (Stormterror, Andrius, and Childe/Tartaglia) | +80 elemental mastery | +35% charged attack damage if the character uses a catalyst or bow |
Gladiator’s Finale | Dropped by elites and weekly bosses (Stormterror, Andrius, and Childe/Tartaglia) | +18% ATK | The 4-piece bonus isn’t important. You could use 2x Gladiator’s Finale and 2x Blizzard Strayer if you want. |
Note 1: For stats, you want the goblet to have Cryo damage bonus. The circlet/helmet, meanwhile, should have crit damage, and the sands/hourglass should have ATK. The rest of your sub-stats should have a smattering of ATK/ATK%, crit damage, and crit rate.
Note 2: I’ve added more details in an update at the latter portion of this guide. The next portion discusses Ganyu’s talent priorities in Genshin Impact.
