Genshin Impact: The Frostbearing Tree’s rewards, Crimson Wishes, and Crimson Agate

While you’re trying to unlock Dragonspine’s Peak of Vindagnyr domain, the quest for it called “In the Mountains” is actually what leads you to the Frostbearing Tree.

After speaking with Iris in the Adventurer’s Camp, you’ll learn that there’s a point of interest in the Snow-Covered Path area. Make your way there.

You’ll notice red mineral nodes in the area. By smacking them with melee weapons, they’ll turn into Scarlet Quartz. If you pick these up, you’ll gain a warming buff symbolized by red energy or petals surrounding your character.

This buff not only allows you to break Ancient Rime ice blocks, but it also lets you damage the Frost Shard nearby.

You’ll need to do this four times so look for those red mineral nodes to get their buffs.

Once the shard is destroyed, activate the orb to make the Frostbearing Tree appear.

If you interact with the Frostbearing Tree, you’ll realize that the mechanics are somewhat similar to the Statues of the Seven in Monstadt and Liyue. Like Anemoculus and Geoculus, you’ll need to look for Crimson Agate to continue empowering it.

Note: There are 80 Crimson Agates found in the Dragonspine region. A majority are readily seen as you explore, though some are hidden. You can refer to our secret Crimson Agate locations guide for more info.

What are Crimson Wishes from the Frostbearing Tree?

Anyway, leveling up the Frostbearing Tree nets you some useful rewards like gold, enhancement ores, Intertwined Fate, Acquaint Fate (to add to your version 1.2 freebies), and more.

There are also talent level-up materials, cosmetic wings/glider skin, a forging blueprint for a catalyst, and a diagram to create a Warming Bottle (to fend off “Sheer Cold” effects temporarily).

Bear in mind that the 80 Crimson Agates found in the wild can only boost the Frostbearing Tree up to level 9. To rank-up from level 10 to 12, you’ll need more of these.

That’s where Crimson Wishes come in.

Once the Frostbearing tree reaches level 8, you’ll unlock Crimson Wishes. These are five daily quests that reset every three days. They usually involve taking out mobs or completing a particular challenge (like the usual commissions).

Completing five Crimson Wishes nets you 5x Crimson Agate. As such, you’ll just need to wait a bit for a few days until you’ve acquired all the resources to max out the Frostbearing Tree.
