Kaeya’s best weapon options

Primordial Jade Cutter – The Primordial Jade Cutter is a solid 5-star weapon for Kaeya to use. This weapon boosts Kaeya’s Crit Rate by up to 44% and provides a sizable ATK bonus to boot. If you are using Kaeya as a Cryo DPS, he will naturally gain a lot of Crit Rate. As a result, if this is you, the Primordial Jade Cutter will pale in comparison to the Mistsplitter Reforged due to an overabundance in Crit Rate.

The Black Sword – The Black Sword is a cheaper 4-star option available in the battle pass for Kaeya. This weapon has relatively solid stats, and even boosts Kaeya’s Crit Rate. As with the Primordial Jade Cutter, The Black Sword is not recommended for Kaeya’s built as a Cryo DPS. This is because Cryo DPS characters naturally gain a lot of Crit Rate. If this is the case, go with the Blackcliff Longsword which passively provides a lot of Crit DMG instead.

Lion’s Roar – This is the 4-star alternative for free-to-play players. One of Kaeya’s best builds is as a Burst Support, meaning the brunt of his damage comes from his Elemental Burst. The Lion’s Roar will increase his Elemental Mastery, which allows his burst to deal more elemental reaction DMG when mixing with other elements such as Pyro.

Kaeya’s best artifact options

Emblem of Severed Fate

  • 2-piece bonus – +20% energy recharge.
  • 4-piece bonus – Increases the damage of your elemental burst by 25% of your energy recharge rate. You can gain a maximum of 75% bonus damage in this manner.

Currently, Kaeya’s strongest build is as an off-field DPS who utilizes his Elemental Burst to deal high damage. The Emblem of Severed Fate is one of Kaeya’s best artifact sets for this, increasing his Elemental Burst DMG while also ensuring he has the Energy Recharge to consistently keep it up.

Blizzard Strayer

  • 2-piece bonus – +15% Cryo DMG
  • 4-piece bonus – When a character attacks an opponent affected by Cryo, their CRIT Rate is increased by 20%. If the opponent is Frozen, CRIT Rate is increased by an additional 20%.

The Blizzard Strayer is Kaeya’s best artifact set as a Cryo / Freeze DPS. When running the Blizzard Strayer, you can automatically get a free passive 55% Crit Rate against Frozen enemies. This increases to 70% if you have Kaeya’s first constellation. Therefore, this allows you to focus completely on Kaeya’s other offensive stats, ATK and Crit DMG. If you are using Kaeya as a burst support, the 2-piece Blizzard Strayer plus the 2-piece Noblesse Oblige is another great set.

Noblesse Oblige

  • 2-piece bonus – +20% elemental burst damage.
  • 4-piece bonus – +20% ATK for all party members for 12 seconds after using an elemental burst.

While the 4-piece Noblesse Oblige isn’t recommended, combining the 2-piece Blizzard Strayer and 2-piece Noblesse Oblige provides you with both a Cryo DMG bonus and an Elemental Burst DMG bonus. The downside to this set is losing the bonus Energy Recharge given by the Emblem of Severed Fate set.

Artifact stat priorities

  • Main stats (Burst DPS): Energy Recharge or ATK% / Crit Rate / Cryo DMG: Use Energy Recharge if you are running the 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate or if you cannot consistently use Kaeya’s Elemental Burst every rotation.
  • Main stats (Cryo DPS): ATK% / Crit DMG / Cryo DMG: Avoid Crit Rate in favor of Crit DMG as much as possible when running a Cryo DPS Kaeya.
  • Sub-stats: Energy Recharge / ATK% / Crit DMG or Crit Rate: Again, your ideal substats will be based on your needs. Avoid Crit Rate if you are running a Cryo DPS Kaeya build.
