From the “Deaconess’ Gratitude” branching point, tell Barbara that you want to “try her special Chilibrew drink.” But, instead of going your separate ways, say that you “should stick together.”

You’ll find Barbara halfway down the Whispering Woods area. There are some hilichurl mobs here that you need to eliminate. Then, a shady-looking character appears.

He looks like a treasure hoarder, and the Traveler’s very wary of him. However, Barbara’s own compassion compels her to heal him.

There are several dialogue options here. The most important one, if you wish to obtain this particular ending, has you telling Barbara that the fella has to be taken to the Knights of Favonius.

If you do that, you’ll have to fight and kill the man since he’ll be hostile. You’ll get the “Incompletely Cured” ending for Barbara’s Hangout Event in Genshin Impact.

If you want to get “The Taste of Hard Work”

Alternatively, you can tell Barbara to stay put so you can look for ingredients. Go to the marked location and grab 3x Small Lamp Grass. Return to Barbara and she’ll heal the man. He admits to being a treasure hoarder, but he’s grateful for the help nonetheless. He’ll provide you with the sweet flowers necessary for Barbara’s mix.

Barbara will meet up with you back in Mondstadt and you’ll follow a few simple steps to get “The Taste of Hard Work.”
