Genshin Impact‘s version 1.3 update, “All That Glitters,” brings a slew of new content. miHoYo even provided a roadmap for all the stuff that’s going to be introduced. Examples include 5-star character Xiao, the Primo Geovishap boss, the Five Flushes of Fortune/Kurious Kamera event, the Liyue Lantern Rite festival, and various activities. Here’s our guide to help you out.
Note: For more information about the game, check out our Genshin Impact guides and features hub.
Genshin Impact: “All That Glitters” – Version 1.3’s new content
Xiao and the “Invitation to Mundane Life” wish banner (February 3 to February 17)
The Vigilant Yaksha, Xiao, joins Genshin Impact‘s roster, and you can claim him if you’re lucky enough with your gacha wish pulls. The “Invitation to Mundane Life” banner which features him also includes Diona, Xinyan, and Beidou.
I was partly unlucky since I still had 80+ wishes to go for the 5-star pity timer. However, within a couple of 10-wish pulls, I ended up with my second Mona. That was unexpected, and I almost gave up since the thought of a pity timer reset scared me. Thankfully, I had enough primogems to get Xiao after five extra sets of pulls. Anyway, you can learn more about this new 5-star character in our Xiao weapons, artifacts, and build guide.
Note 1: The “Dance of Lanterns” character wish banner (February 17 to March 2) will replace Xiao’s banner. It will feature Keqing, Ningguang, Barbara, and Bennett.
Note 2: Meanwhile, the “Epitome Invocation” weapon banner (which lasts from today until February 23) features the Primordial Jade Winged-Spear and Primordial Jade Cutter sword. When that’s done, the next “Epitome Invocation” (February 23 to March 16) will feature the Staff of Homa and Wolf’s Gravestone.
The Primo Geovishap elite boss and Juvenile Jade (Permanent)
The Primo Geovishap is a new elite boss that you can fight in the game. It drops Juvenile Jade, a character ascension material required by Xiao (and it’s rumored to be a material for Hu Tao as well). You can learn more in our Primo Geovishap guide.
Transmutation: Dust of Azoth and Parametric Transformer (Permanent)
There are two ways for you to convert some of your stuff in Genshin Impact. Firstly, the alchemy bench lets you turn gemstones into other types through the use of the Dust of Azoth resource. Secondly, the Parametric Transformer can be fed with various items that’ll turn into other kinds of loot. You can learn more in our new transmutation methods guide.
“Bough Keeper: Dainsleif” quest (Permanent)
You’ll meet a mysterious character who knows a lot about the Traveler. He’s none other than Dainsleif, and a story quest reveals more about his agenda. You can learn more in our “Bough Keeper: Dainsleif” guide.
Battle Pass/Paimon’s Shop bundles and gear (limited for the month)
Those who want to spend extra can purchase the Gnostic Hymn Battle Pass. It still has the same weapons as before, though there are new objectives related to Genshin Impact‘s “All That Glitters” activities.
As for Paimon’s shop, the mini-bundles are back. Examples include:
- Adventurer’s Tempering Bundle (120x genesis crystals; maximum of five) – Contains 60,000x mora and 10x Eminent Share Bundle which has weapon ascension materials (i.e., Decabrian’s City, Boreal Tooth).
- Adventurer’s Instructional Bundle (680x genesis crystals; maximum of three) – Contains 150,000 mora and 25x Virtuous Share Bundle which has talent leveling materials (i.e., Freedom books, Ballad books).
- Adventurer’s Jumbo Ore Bundle (680x genesis crystals; maximum of five) – Contains 100,000 mora and 100x mystic enhancement ore.
Regarding the Starglitter Exchange panel, Beidou and Noelle are the two featured characters. The featured weapons are of the “Royal” variety. These have ATK% as a sub-stat, and the effect gives you up to a maximum of five crit rate-boosting stacks when you damage an enemy. Getting a critical hit will remove these stacks.
Kurious Kamera and the Five Flushes of Fortune event (February 3 to February 10)
This short event provides you with a Kurious Kamera gadget used to take pictures of items in Genshin Impact‘s game world. You’ll need to obtain a set of five photos with different “colors,” allowing you to exchange them for a reward. You can learn more in our Five Flushes of Fortune event guide.
The Lantern Rite Festival (February 10 to February 28)
This is the flagship event of Genshin Impact‘s 1.3/”All That Glitters” update, and it happens to coincide with the Chinese New Year.
There are multiple activities related to this, as well as stages known as “Festive Fever.” We’ll have more guides for you once these are live, so, for now, here’s a quick rundown.
“Alatus Chapter” – Xiao’s story quest (February 10)
This quest is a pre-requisite to unlock the Lantern Rite event. To start this, you’ll have to reach Adventure Rank 23 and you must have completed “Chapter I: Act I – Of the Land Amidst Monoliths.” This is pretty much the “Rite of Descension” quest chain in Liyue, one that introduced you to Childe, Zhongli, and Ningguang.
Lantern Rite Quests
- “Origin of the Lanterns” – Starts on February 10.
- “Currents Deep Beneath the Lanterns” – Starts on February 14.
- “Light Upon the Sea” – Starts on February 18.
Theater Mechanicus (February 10 to February 28)
You’ll need to complete “Origin of the Lanterns” and the “Liyue: Theater Mechanicus” quest to enable this highly-anticipated tower defense activity.
By crafting Xiao Lanterns, you’ll be able to do these challenges either solo or via two-player co-op. Upon progressing through the Lantern Rite’s Festive Fever stages, you’ll unlock new maps, mechanici, upgrade levels, and difficulties. In turn, you’ll obtain some rewards, including Peace Talismans.
Xiao Market (February 10 to March 7)
The Peace Talismans you obtain from the Theater Mechanicus can be used to purchase items in the Xiao Market. Items include hero’s wit, ores, level-up materials, and a unique namecard style.
Bear in mind that the Xiao Market also has stages that get unlocked in conjunction with the schedules of the Lantern Rite Quests.
Stand By Me (February 10 to March 7)
After reaching the “Glow of a Thousand Lanterns” Festive Fever stage, you can spend 1,000 Peace Talismans to receive one 4-star character. You’re limited to only one selection among these characters:
- Xiangling (Pyro)
- Xinyan (Pyro)
- Ningguang (Geo)
- Beidou (Electro)
- Xingqiu (Hydro)
- Chongyun (Cryo)
Other activities and rewards in Genshin Impact‘s 1.3 update
- May Fortune Find You (February 11 to February 26) – Log in daily (up to seven days) for multiple rewards. These include mora, ores, and Intertwined Fates.
- Night Sky’s Grace (February 26 onwards) – For five days, you’ll be able to receive various rewards in your mailbox. These include Fragile Resin and Intertwined Fates.
- Ley Line Overflow event (February 26 to March 5) – Players may tackle up to three Ley Line Outcrops each day. By spending Original Resin, you’ll get double the loot.
Note: Lastly, you might want to check out your Geo characters, especially Zhongli. If he was quite a disappointment before, then you’ll be glad to know that Genshin Impact‘s “All That Glitters” update has significantly buffed him. You can learn about these tweaks in version 1.3’s full patch notes.
