Genshin Impact guide: Adventure Rank Ascension Quest

Your Adventure Rank in Genshin Impact gets capped at multiple thresholds (rank 25 is the first one). As such, you’ll need to ascend your rank each time you reach these points.

You can simply click on the quest button via the Adventurer’s Guild and you’ll be directed to one of the domains (dungeons) in Teyvat. You’ll need to clear this dungeon to complete the Ascension Quest.

Before you do that, consider that increasing your Adventure Rank’s cap also boosts the World Level for your Genshin Impact account. The possible rewards will get better, but the monsters you’ll encounter in the game world will become beefier and stronger.

The Ascension Dungeon

The battles in the first dungeon are fairly manageable as long as your characters are close to or above level 35. You’ll need to take out some of the mobs guarding the doorways with barriers and, once you’re done, you can pass through to the next area.

Note: There are no element-based puzzles in the Ascension Dungeon, so just bring a party with your best characters, preferably those with perfect elemental synergies for combos.

There’s also a section where you need to glide across a chasm while avoiding bow-equipped hilichurls.

In the next room, there’s a fight with an eight-minute timer. You have to take out several hilichurls and an assassin.

In the final room, you’ll encounter two ice mages. After killing them, you’ll battle the Ascension Dungeon’s boss: the Electro Hypostasis elite monster. You’ve got eight minutes to finish this fight.

If you’ve been farming elites often, you’ll know that the Electro Hypostasis is one of the easiest encounters in Genshin Impact. Its transformations and attacks are predictable. Likewise, if you have a Pyro or Cryo character, they can quickly proc overload explosions once it becomes vulnerable.

Keep at it until the Electro Hypostasis’ health is low. It’ll split into three crystals that you need to destroy fast (use skills or bursts that trigger overload).

If any crystal is left alive after a few seconds, it’ll regen a bit of health and you’ll need to continue fighting it.

When this battle is over, you’ll notice that Genshin Impact‘s World Level has increased and you’ve successfully ascended your Adventure Rank. Go back to grinding until the next cap where you’ll need to do another Ascension Quest.
