How to clear Floor 12 of the Spiral Abyss in Genshin Impact

Each Spiral Abyss update grants a unique buff to help you out in your battles. This update is the Blessing of the Abyssal Moon: Keen Moon. This buff has the following effect:

“When a character recovers HP, that character gains 10% increased ATK for 10 seconds. Max 3 stacks. Each stack will be counted independently. When a character loses HP, that character gains 40 Elemental Mastery for 10 seconds. Max 3 stacks. Each stack will be counted independently. The effects from recovering and losing HP are independent of each other, and stacks are counted independently.”

Floor 12 of the Spiral Abyss typically does not have a Leyline Disorder, and thus, no extra buffs will be granted to your teams. You’ll need to rely on your team’s pure power to best navigate the following challenges.

Floor 12 of the Spiral Abyss once again favors Hydro and Pyro units, thanks to the number of enemies in each chamber that are countered by Hydro and Pyro effects. As a result, you should hopefully have a roster of Hydro and Pyro units you can take advantage of in these difficult fights. Here are some recommended characters for the Floor 12 of the Spiral Abyss in Genshin Impact:

  • Xiangling and Bennett once again remain dominant on this floor, thanks to their iconic synergy and power together. The second half of each chamber on this floor features an enemy or two that are countered by the Pyro element, so utilizing the two stars of the Pyro element will make this floor a breeze. Be sure to utilize these two characters if you have them built.
  • Similar to how Xingqiu and Yelan were extremely strong units on Floor 11, they once again are very effective on Floor 12. The first half of each chamber on this floor features enemies weak to the Hydro element, so you’ll want to take advantage of at least one of these units to help you along.
  • Dendro units like Alhaitham or Nahida will synergize well with Hydro units. In particular, taking advantage of a Hyperbloom team will help you with the many bosses found on this floor, as the Hyperbloom reaction is well-known for being one of the best sources of single-target damage in the game.

With these tips in mind, consider the following teams for the Spiral Abyss in Genshin Impact:

  • Tartaglia / Kazuha / Xiangling / Bennett
  • Hu Tao / Zhongli / Xingqiu / Yelan
  • Lyney / Kazuha / Xiangling / Bennett
  • Alhaitham / Xingqiu / Yelan / Kuki Shinobu

  • 1-star: Remaining challenge time longer than 180 seconds.
  • 2-star: Remaining challenge time longer than 300 seconds.
  • 3-star: Remaining challenge time longer than 420 seconds.

The first half of this chamber features the return of the infamous Maguu Kenki boss. The AI of this boss has become a bit more difficult. Typically, you can ensure that the Maguu Kenki teleports to the back of the arena. However, the Maguu Kenki here now has an unpredictable attack pattern, and will typically teleport to a different location after every attack. Pay attention to where the Maguu Kenki teleports. In the beginning, you’ll have to wait about ten seconds for the Maguu Kenki to charge up. You might want to start your rotation a bit earlier to give your main DPS the largest window of attack. You can check out our guide for this boss for more specific attack pattern details.

After losing about 33% HP, the Maguu Kenki will charge up a strong attack that you’ll need to dodge or use an Elemental Burst to invul through it. In this phase, the Maguu Kenki will take no damage, so use this time frame to charge up your Elemental Burst. This is the last phase where the Maguu Kenki will be immune to damage.

The second half of this chamber features two waves of enemies. The first wave consists of four Tainted Water-Splitting/Spouting Phantasms. These enemies are made of the Hydro element and are completely immune to Hydro damage. On the flip side, they are always infused with Hydro and will take extra damage from Pyro thanks to the Vaporize reaction. These Phantasms are also susceptible to crowd-control, so using Kazuha to group these enemies together to maximize AoE damage will help make your clear much smoother.

After this wave, you’ll encounter a Fatui Cryo Cicin Mage, a Construction Specialist Mek, and a Suppression Specialist Mek. Focus the Cryo Cicin Mage first, as the other two enemies should naturally make their way toward you, allowing you to optimize AoE damage and speed up your clear.

  • 1-star: Remaining challenge time longer than 180 seconds.
  • 2-star: Remaining challenge time longer than 300 seconds.
  • 3-star: Remaining challenge time longer than 420 seconds.

The first half of this chamber features the Emperor of Fire and Iron world boss. This boss is ultimately non-threatening in terms of attacks but will spawn a strong Pyro shield at the beginning of the fight. This boss can still take decent damage while the Pyro shield is up, just at a reduced rate. Depleting this Pyro shield will cause your attacks to deal more damage, and will also stun the boss, giving you an easy opportunity to attack. The Pyro shield can regenerate if you do not kill the boss fast enough after destroying the shield the first time. You can check out our guide for this boss for more specific attack pattern details.

The second half of this chamber pits you against Eremite Scorching Loremaster and Eremite Daythunder for the first wave. Defeat these enemies by focusing on the Loremaster first, allowing the Daythunders to approach you. Next, you’ll fight the Large Shatterstone and Overgrown Breacher Prismus enemies. One will grow a Dendro shield, while the other a Geo shield. These shields are deceptively weak, so defeat these enemies as normal.

  • 1-star: Remaining challenge time longer than 180 seconds.
  • 2-star: Remaining challenge time longer than 300 seconds.
  • 3-star: Remaining challenge time longer than 420 seconds.

The first half of this chamber features numerous Mek enemies, Eremite Floral Ring-Dancer, and Fatui Skirmisher Pyroslinger Bracers. Hydro units will be helpful to deplete Pyro shields formed by the Pyroslinger Bracer.

The second half of this chamber features the Icewind Suite: Nemesis of Coppelius boss. In this iteration of the fight, the boss will gain a Cryo shield more often, making Pyro units a necessity. Additionally, this boss’ attacks are a bit more devastating, so be sure to bring a strong healer for this fight. You can check out our guide for this boss for more specific attack pattern details.
