The ridiculous himbo Arataki Itto is undoubtedly one of Genshin Impact’s biggest superstars, and he has one of the silliest hobbies in the game. A child at heart, Arataki Itto dons the mighty Onikabuto beetle and heads into battle, pitting these creepy crawlies against each other. These beetle battles were just a thing of legends before, but now, we’ll finally be able to participate in the beetle-battling ourselves. And you’d best believe Arataki Itto will be making an appearance in Genshin Impact‘s “Almighty Arataki Extraordinary and Exhilarating Extreme Beetle Brawl” event.
Arataki Itto is always a handful (and a mouthful), but this beetle fighting game will allow us to use an Onikabuto and fight to the buggy death. The mode looks similar to a fighting game, but it’s almost certainly not as in-depth as the genre typically demands (unless you count Divekick.) It’s a simple mode that features a lunge attack which you use to deplete the enemy Onikabuto’s HP. Each lunge will take some stamina, and you’ll have to manage your stamina carefully to make sure you can defeat the enemy without overheating.
The buggiest fighting game
Genshin Impact has gotten very experimental with some of its minigames recently, including the Windtrace hide-and-seek event and the Genius Invokation Trading Card Game. This beetle battler might crawl its way into players’ hearts and into the rotation of events they’ll bring back in the future. But aside from the Beetle Brawl, we’ll also have other events from the Lantern Rite to look forward to, including a music festival and the chance to pick one 4-star Liyue character completely for free.
Other new features coming to Genshin Impact in Version 3.4 are two new Dendro characters, Alhaitham and Yaoyao. Alhaitham is the 5-star character of the update, a main DPS character, while Yaoyao is a 4-star Dendro healer. Genshin Impact Version 3.4 and the mighty Beetle Brawl drop on all platforms on January 18.
