Gadget Show creates Battlefield 3 immersive simulator

This article is over 13 years old and may contain outdated information

On next week’s Gadget Show, the team will be showcasing their latest creation, an immersive FPS simulator.
The challenge for next week’s show, which airs on Channel 5 at 8PM here in the UK on 24 October, is to create an immersive FPS simulator. The simulator cost around £500,000 to make and features the world’s first portable omni-directional treadmill (designed by Swedish company MSE Weibull), 12 paintball markers to help them feel the pain, a wireless weapon, and it’s all pojected inside a 360-degree, 4 metre high and 9 metre wide video dome.
Having given up on the Gadget Show due to the constant shouting by the presenters and Jason Bradbury leaping around like a twelve year old, this is probably worth a watch if you’re a fan of shotoers and Battlefield 3 which is the game used in the challenge.
