Forza Team Accidentally Reveals Alleged Upcoming “Forza Street” Title

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

A new Forza title is apparently very close to being revealed, though Turn10 isn’t ready to talk about it just yet. However, it was someone on their team that accidentally ended up leaking the existence of the alleged new title, all thanks to putting it in the URL of a recent post over on the official Forza website. While the URL has since been edited,  AR12 Gaming was able to get a screengrab of the page before it was switched.

As a result, this accidental leak has apparently revealed that the next Forza game will be called Forza Street, though it’s going to be a bit different than what the franchise is used to. Rather than an all-new AAA experience, Forza Street is going to be a new game that’s built for mobile devices, including Windows 10. It’s being developed by UK-based studio Electric Square. Going by that description, it appears that Forza Street is going to be Microsoft’s answer to the likes of other high-caliber mobile racers such as Asphalt and Real Racing.

Despite the slip-up, it doesn’t seem that Turn 10 (the main team behind Forza Motorsport) is ready to own up to the error. According to GTPlanet, an official Forza rep has stated that the team “has nothing to announce at this time”. That’s not a denial that the game doesn’t exist, just that an official announcement isn’t happening right now. Thus, keep your eyes peeled for the actual reveal sometime soon. If it happens in typical Forza fashion, then it might be shown off either at or just before E3 in June.

Forza Horizon 3 Sunrise

Microsoft’s Forza franchise is easily one of the most recognizable racing IPs in the entire industry. It’s become even more popular after it finally started making its way to PC alongside the Xbox One releases with games like Forza Horizon 3 in 2016, Forza Motorsport 7 in 2017 and Forza Horizon 4 which just launched this past October 2018. The franchise has had a yearly release schedule since the Horizon line began back in 2012, which created a bi-annual release schedule that alternates between Horizon and Motorsport. Though, this year things are looking to be a bit different as Turn 10 Studios (the main team behind Forza Motorsport) announced a few months ago that development on Motorsport 8 had not yet begun. Rather, the team had been focusing on improving Motorsport 7. Seeing that Playground Games (the main team behind Horizon) just delivered Horizon 4, a new game in that series isn’t due until at least 2020. So, it looks like Forza Street may very well end up being the one and only new Forza game this year. While Windows 10 users will be able to enjoy it, it seems as though Xbox One fans are going to get left in the dust on this one.
