Prepare to go back to the basics of the Forza franchise. We can all agree the open-world spin-off series, Forza Horizon was fantastic. But things could get interesting with Forza Motorsport going back to form. The arcade and simulator style is back, and we are ready. If you’re a car enthusiast, you can definitely hone your skills.
Forza Motorsport: A return to form
While we’re not really sure if this is a reboot of the entire Motorsport series, it’s still a welcoming surprise. Since the game was teased earlier, we saw the new graphics and tech that Turn 1o Studios was putting into the game. Still, it has a lot of older features which makes Forza the definitive racer. You’ll be able to fine-tune everything, down to how much air you have in your tire. I can admit, I spent way too much time doing that in Forza Motorsport 7.Â
It also looks like the customizations are making a comeback with a few changes. We don’t know what those changes will entail yet, so expect more news later on. But you can expect a large selection of modifications. This is something that has been a staple in all Forza games, so not having it in this entry would be interesting.
Just by looking at the gameplay trailer it seems like Forza Motorsport will be utilizing most of the power of the Xbox Series X. This could mean, the sim racer may be one of the better-looking games this generation.
Getting your racing gloves ready
Most of the games shown off at the Xbox Games Showcase had either no release date or a release window. For Forza Motorsport, you’ll be racing with your friends on October 10 on the Xbox Series X/S and PC. On top of that, if you don’t want to spend full price, the game will be dropping on Game Pass day one.
