Forza Horizon 5 Expansion Night Drive

Forza Horizon 5 will get a new expansion reveal during a stream this week

Right around the corner.

Those who have sunk countless hours into Forza Horizon 5 may end up spending quite a few more in the coming days. Yesterday morning, the official Forza Horizon Twitter account revealed that developer Playground Games will soon announce a new expansion for Forza Horizon 5 in an upcoming live stream. The developers will host this stream tomorrow starting at 9 a.m. PT on the Forza Twitch channel. Fortunately, this live stream will not conflict time-wise with tomorrow’s PlayStation State of Play showcase, which will air at 1 p.m. PT. With two showcases to look out for tomorrow, gaming news junkies will have quite a bit to anticipate.

The picture shown in the announcement tweet depicts a festival area in the middle of a desert in Mexico emitting multicolored lights that brighten the night sky. Fireworks in the shape of the Horizon piñata mascot accompany the spotlights and hot air balloon in the sky. Just looking at the picture doesn’t give a clear idea as to what this upcoming expansion will entail.  However, the description for the Expansions Bundle on the Xbox Store states that each expansion sports “a new location, vehicles, and gameplay.”

Back to the track again

This expansion follows up on the Hot Wheels one that saw a release last year on July 19. The Hot Wheels DLC functioned similarly to the one from Forza Horizon 3 in that it introduced massive toy tracks for players to race on.

It seems safe to assume that the second expansion for Forza Horizon 5 will feature more grounded, realistic races than the previous one. Prior Forza Horizon games came with a toy expansion and a grounded expansion, so it stands to reason that Forza Horizon 5 will maintain this tradition. Of course, we won’t know for sure until tomorrow’s live stream provides the answers people are looking for. And hopefully, the DLC will drop not too long after.
