Fortnite finally has Peter Griffin from Family Guy, but a major collab that players still want is SpongeBob SquarePants. If Epic Games ever commit to a SpongeBob collab, I hope it would look half as good as AustinTheBear’s fan-made design.
Fortnite x SpongeBob SquarePants fan-made collab, explained
AustinTheBear, a Fortnite fan and creator, made a fan-made SpongeBob SquarePants x Fortnite crossover I wish was real. If it was, I’d most definitely be spending V-Bucks. It features a skin bundle, three incredible Pickaxes, the best Glider you’ll ever see, and even a Fortnite Festival guitar and Rocket Racing car — all of which are SpongeBob-themed.
Watch AustinTheBear’s Twitter (or X) post video to see the Fortnite x SpongeBob SquarePants collab for yourself. There are so many incredible SpongeBob SquarePants details that only a fan of the show would pick up on.
As you can see, the main Fortnite BR SpongeBob skin is SpongeBob with a bubble suit which is reminiscent of Bubble Buddy. Though it’s not shown in the in-game animation, there’s a DoodleBob alternate skin that goes hard. The emote that comes with the bundle features SpongeBob jumping out of the bubble onto the hand and playing the theme song on his nose like a flute… Amazing.
There are two Back Blings: one is the Reef Blower which is the focus of one of the first SpongeBob SquarePants episodes, and the other is Gary sitting on a sofa chair. The three Pickaxes are the jellyfishing net, the Krusty Krab spatula, and the red karate gloves. These detailed cosmetics are iconic and definitely make me want to buy this bundle… if it was real. Hey, Epic Games! Hire AustinTheBear and make the SpongeBob SquarePants x Fortnite collab official!
My personal favorite item in this bundle is the Hans Glider. It even says, “Oh Hans!” when it comes out. Hans is one of the funniest things in SpongeBob and I’m so glad AustinTheBear found a way to include it.
The icing on the cake is the Goofy Goober Guitar from the first SpongeBob movie, which works in Fortnite Festival, the Boat Mobile that works in Rocket Racing, and even the LEGO version of the SpongeBob SquarePants bubble skin. I’m blown away by AustinTheBear’s fan-made SpongeBob SquarePants x Fortnite collab and, I know I’ve said it a lot in this article, but I genuinely need Epic Games to make this a reality. I’m still holding out hope for a LEGO Ninjago collab.
