Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 is just around the corner, and leaks are coming in. Already, rumors have been circulating about a crossover with Resident Evil which could see some stars from the franchise receive skins that may be purchasable in the item store. Now, a leak is suggesting that a first-person mode could be added to Fortnite with the launch of the next season.
Fortnite already has an array of game modes on offer, some created by Epic Games itself, while others are made by fans. However, a first-person game type has been missing in favor of a third-person experience. In previous seasons, we have been given a glimpse of what a first-person mode could feel like. When you aim down sight with a handful of weapons, you’re switched to a first-person view.
Fortnite first-person view may have been revealed via leak
According to reputable Fortnite leaker HYPEX, a first-person mode is set to arrive in the next season. Apparently, the same source was able to confirm it with other prominent leakers. It’s thought that there will be a separate first-person playlist, similar to the regular battle royale and no-build playlists. As a result, you would be able to play the traditional third-person mode or try out the game in the new first-person experience.
With that being said, its unknown if that’ll be the case early on. You may remember when the no-build playlist first released, the mode which had building enabled was completely removed for a while. We don’t know if the same has been planned if first-person does get released.
At the time of writing, Epic Games has neither confirmed or denied the development of a first-person mode in Fortnite. There’s no doubt that if released, this mode will provide fans with a fresh experience. With the current season scheduled to end on March 8, an announcement shouldn’t be too far away.
