Fortnite is warning bans for playing with cheaters – even if by accident

What can you do to avoid partnering up with cheaters?

Fortnite has always had a problem with cheaters – it’s what it gets for being so darn popular. However, other players are now getting caught in the crossfire in Fortnite’s war against exploiters.

Players will get banned if they partner up with cheaters consistently in Fortnite

The war on cheaters in gaming is an ever-evolving fight, with the exploiters and the anti-cheating methods getting better and better. However, Fortnite has upped the ante by threatening those who associate with cheaters, even if they themselves have never cheated.

This countermeasure may seem pretty smart on paper, however, for those playing in lobbies with random players, this could result in unnecessary bannings. With the Avatar event in full swing, this is the worst time to get banned.

Reddit user Ill_Fly2120 posted to the FortniteBR subreddit, complaining that they’ve been accused of reguarly playing with cheaters.

The user gave context to their recent playing habits, which revealed that only three potential players could have been cheaters. Is the bar this low, or is this a mistake?

Many others responding to this user’s plight have mentioned that revealing who the cheating players are would allow normal players to steer clear from squadding up with them. Without knowing who the cheaters you’re teaming up with are, how are you supposed to avoid them?

Fortnite really needs to improve this process, as it will result in innocent and unsuspecting players getting banned.

Also, if Fortnite can identify these cheaters, why not simply ban them instead of threatening those they play with?

How to avoid playing with cheaters in Fortnite

There is very little you can do to avoid playing with cheaters in Fortnite that’s not simply avoiding teaming with random players.

Playing with friends or even just other trusted players is the safest thing to do. There are plenty of communities out there for you to reach out to like-minded Fortnite players who, most importantly, don’t cheat.

If you would rather keep playing with randoms, then you run this risk, as there’s no way of telling whether a player is a cheater or not. If you have a mic, you could outright ask them whether they have cheats activated, and if they confirm, then leave the game as quick as you can.

Until this anti-cheat measure gets improved or scrapped, you’ll just have to be careful of who you play Fortnite with. If you get banned, you’ll have a very hard time opening all the Chakras to get Appa. And that is a fat worse than getting banned.
