Fortnite Dynamic Weather

Fortnite adds dynamic weather, and the Flare Gun returns from the vault

The Fortnite weather forecast is tornadoes and lightning.

Fortnite Chapter 3: Season 1 flipped the island upside down, literally. This season has seen a brand new map, the addition of a sliding mechanic, new and returning NPCs and more. The overview trailer that launched with the new chapter showed off what players can expect to see in the continuation of the Fortnite narrative. One of the feature that was briefly shown off was dynamic weather. The latest Fortnite update has added those dynamic weather changes and reintroduced the Flare Gun.

Two types of weather that have been introduced: tornadoes and lightning. Although this type of weather may appear threatening, they can be used to your advantage. If you spot a tornado forming, you can run towards it, and it will take you spinning up in the air with it. You can use your glider to get out, or wait until the tornado throws you out. They may prove to be a useful strategy to get out of a difficult situation or to rotate to the next circle.

If you spot dark clouds forming in the sky, it means that lightning is getting ready to strike. Getting struck by lightning will deal a small amount of damage to you, however, you will gain a temporary speed boost from it. After you’ve been struck once, you will not get struck again in the same match. You can also increase your chance of being struck by hoping in to a body of water underneath the cloud. If that is not available, you can climb to the highest point of land that is under the cloud.

The Flare Gun is back to cause even more chaos

Apart from the addition of dynamic weather in Fortnite, the Flare Gun has been unvaulted. The latest addition to the weapon pool can be found on the ground, in chests, or in supply boxes. From now until January 17, there is a higher chance that you will encounter tornadoes. It will be interesting to see how popular they are among fans as the season progresses.
