Fornite Chapter 3

Leaks suggest Fortnite Chapter 3 could arrive as early as next month

The end is nigh. Again.

Fortnite is currently heading towards the end of Chapter 2 Season 8. The exact end date is December 5, which is less than a month away. Before the latest update, there was no reason to assume Season 9 wasn’t next in line for the battle royale. However, along with all the Naruto characters, update v18.40 also contained a bunch of data that suggests the release of Fortnite Chapter 3 is right around the corner.

The datamined info discovered includes a loading screen, an image of an updated map, and an event playlist. Three very convincing pieces of evidence.

Put your detective caps on

If you cast your mind way back to when Fortnite Chapter 1 ended, you may recall a world-destroying event. The end result of this was the Chapter 2 map and a bunch of additions to the game. Well, that event was called “The End.” Now, Fortnite dataminer InTheShade has discovered a new live event playlist by the exact same name.

Moving on to exhibit B, two Fortnite dataminers discovered a loading screen that is very clearly for the end of Chapter 2. The image literally says “The Chapter 2 Finale” on it. Credit for this find goes to Fortnite Intel and YLSDev on Twitter.

Finally, let’s take a look at exhibit C — the last piece of evidence that suggests the arrival of Fortnite Chapter 3 is imminent. Another duo, ImPeQu and Zatheo, datamined this piece of information. It’s the Fortnite map, but with a large desert covering the central area. There are a few unnamed locations scattered throughout it, but the most interesting one is the massive black cross in the middle. This looks like a good match for the image in the datamined loading screen above.
