Firelight Technologies announced today that it’s next generation game audio tool suite, FMOD Studio is used by the highly anticipated PlayStation 4 (PS4) exclusive title, Drive Club.
“As one of the very first titles developed for PlayStation 4 we were thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Evolution Studios to explore what’s possible on this new platform.” said Raymond Biggs, lead developer for FMOD Studio. “Drive Club has very ambitious goals as a next-gen racer and we’re proud to have helped Evolution realize their vision.”
FMOD Studio is optimized to take advantage of the high performance computing architecture in PlayStation 4, allowing developers to use high quality real-time effects and synthesis not possible on previous generation hardware.
“The guys at FMOD have gone to great lengths to support Evolution’s audio team during the development of Drive Club. Combined with our proprietary tools and technology, FMOD Studio has helped us to ensure that Drive Club’s sonic performance stands shoulder to shoulder with its stunning visuals, compelling gameplay and engaging social aspects!” Scott Kirkland, Studio Technical Director, Evolution
