Luckily, it’s not a bug, and there’s an in-game reason why you may not see the Heart appear. Here’s how to fix this issue.

Alan Wake 2: Where is Nightingale’s Heart

When trying to find certain things in this game, you’ll soon realize they rely on you needing to put together clues on your Case Board. Nightingale’s Heart is supposed to show up at the General Store Freezer in Alan Wake 2, but how you can fix it if it’s not appearing is by making sure you’ve Profiled Nightingale six times, you’ve discovered all the clues such as the Manuscript pages, and figured it out in your Case Board.

Progressing through the story in this puzzle game forces you to solve cases through your Case Board, and how you do that is by Profiling, talking to people, collecting clues, and finding Manuscript pages. If you’ve yet to find Nightingale’s Heart, it’s probably because you haven’t fully solved the case on Saga’s Case Board.

Upon furthering the investigation and story, you’ll slowly unlock different things to ask people in Saga’s Mind Place using her Profiling technique. It’s sort of like her intuition, but it reveals a lot more truths than you would think.

In total, you can Profile Nightingale six different times. Doing this will eventually lead you to the Heart’s location. You’ll also need to find Manuscripts, which can also be useful for putting together clues on your Case Board. There’s dialogue choices when talking to people as well, which can lead to clues.

Once all this is complete, and you’ve made Saga figure it out on her Case Board, Nightingale’s Heart should appear in the General Store freezer. As soon as you make your way back to the store, you’ll encounter your first Taken, and you must defeat it.

Take them down, and walk into the room they just crashed through. You’ll notice the Sawed-Off Shotgun hanging on the wall, as well as a freezer. It should contain Nightingale’s Heart inside!
