Ubisoft has revealed the first details and screenshots for Shaun White Skateboarding. Skating in a huge city, players will have the ability to roam around completing challenges and taking part in certain competitions. As the player progresses more of the city is unlocked with better skate lines and buildings will develop to create more opportunities to land moves.
Fountains can be emptied to create skate bowls, handrails can be used to grab or grind and streets can be altered to create ramps.
“When we started making the game, we knew we wanted to give players a sense of how skaters see the world – everything is an opportunity,” said Nick Harper, Creative Director.
He added, “What looks like a handrail to us is really a grind. A park bench is a place to trick, an alley is a quarter pipe, etc. We’ve taken that idea and expanded it. We wanted to put our own twist on the genre and craft the type of game that allows players to be creative and still have a lot of fun.”
Over 80 skate tricks will be added into the game, which will also include online co-op skates modes.
Shaun White Skateboarding will launch on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Nintendo Wii later this year.
