As expected, the patch notes are rather large covering everything from new areas to quests. Because some of the new content is locked away unless you own Stormblood, the notes have been given a key to show what updates are relevant to each version of the game. It’s unlikely that anyone playing the game won’t pick up the expansion but it’s worth noting when reading through these.

Stormblood players will be able to take on the new scenario Beyond the Great Wall and Square has been careful not to add spoilers to the notes. There are also new Job and class quests coming in the update and these and more are also mentioned in the extensive notes.

There’s a lot to digest and anyone who is joining through Early Access ahead of launch should read these carefully. It’s also worth pointing out that these notes are labeled “preliminary” so things may change over the next few days.
