Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a massive RPG with a lengthy main storyline, several side quests, and an expansive open world to explore, so there are a ton of ways to earn experience to level up your party members. Just how high can you level up each character, though?
Since Rebirth is the middle chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy, you won’t start the game at level 1 and lose all of the experience that the party gained during the first game. On the other hand, you won’t be able to reach too high of a level in Rebirth since there’s still a large chunk of the story waiting in the third and final game in the trilogy.
What is the Maximum Level in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?
The level cap in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is 70. You start the game at level 21, which is the average level that players were upon leaving Midgar in the original Final Fantasy 7 game.
Since Rebirth lets you level up from 21 to 70, it effectively has the same level cap as Final Fantasy 7 Remake since that game had a maximum level of 50. Both games have roughly 50 levels that can be earned before the credits roll, the numbers have just been shifted slightly for Rebirth since it’s the second game in the trilogy. The next game in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy will most likely do something similar, starting players a little bit higher and letting them reach a slightly higher level cap by the end of the game.

If you take your time to explore and partake in Rebirth’s extensive list of side activities, you’ll likely hit the level cap with your entire party before the credits roll. You don’t need to be anywhere near the level cap to beat the game, though, so you don’t have to spend that much time grinding to prepare for the final encounter. Plus, character levels are only one aspect of their growth. To assemble the best party composition, you’ll need to level up everyone’s Folios, Materia, and Synergy abilities.
