According to reports emerging today, EA Sports held a secret London showcase during April and showed off a beta version of the inevitably forthcoming Fifa 13. A selection of screenshots have leaked out from that event (which you can view around this piece), alongside a few crumbs of detail for malnourished Fifa fans.
The spies inside the secret showcase are suggesting that Fifa 13 will see changes to first-touch control (making it more difficult to receive a ball ‘cleanly’ with your players); free kicks (you’ll be able to feign a direct shot and instead pass to a player sneaking off the opposition’s wall); player impact (fewer moments of hilarity for comedy fans to enjoy) and attacking AI (EA is aiming to make general improvements here).
New passing types and something called ‘complete dribble’ have also been mentioned.
In related news, GameStop in the UK has the title listed for release on PS3 on 29 September. That date is believeable, but may well just be a placeholder based on previous Fifa release dates.
